  • Questionable bundled service

Charter bundle : t.v., internet, phone. No problem with phone, but Charter e-mail messed up after a few weeks ; tried solving problem thru virtual assistant to no avail. A call to Charter said there was a problem in my area, technicians were working on it. Apparently they couldn't "fix it", so I don't use it ! Also, one t.v quit working properly : no picture. A call connected me to a technician who 'sent a signal' which was supposed to re-connect. It didn't, so she sent 'a stronger signal'--didn't work. I was told to call someone to the... More...

  • Installation of new service taking four (or even more) appointments

I ordered an upgrade of service from Internet to add TV. The first order was horribly messed up and the scheduled appointment was 1 week out. I was not happy that it was a week out, but was willing to live with it. 1st appointment 7 days after order: Could not do the installation since Tier 2 was not working at that time 2nd appointment 9 days after order: Put on connector wrong (according to next tech out) that broke the internet and did not finish install. 3rd appointment 10 days after order: Fixed the connector - got Internet working again. :) 4th appointment 11 days after order:... • Charter online bill pay unnecessarily confusing

On Charter online bill pay, you apparently need to download the pdf of your bill to know whether it will process your auto pay. This, despite the fact that on my Account Summary screen a week BEFORE my bill was due, I clearly see the phrase "Your Auto Pay will be Processed" followed by the amount of my monthly bill. So like any reasonable and rational human being, I understand that to mean that it will process that amount from the account I set up for Auto Pay. Apparently not the case, and now Charter gets a free $8 late fee from me for doing nothing but a terrible job... More...

  • Talk to the right people

I had questions about changing from Charter to Direct TV. I call Charter to find out what deals they had so that I may compare them to Direct TV. The Charter agent (Melissa) said that Direct TV had more channels and Direct TV service was a little cheaper. She said that both companies offer a low introductory rate but both raise there rates after the contract expires. She also said that overall Direct TV was cheaper. I asked her about the service problems I have heard about with Direct TV. She said that she has never had any problems in the three years she has had Direct TV. I thought I must... More...

  • Charter high speed internet

Had Charter high speed internet with AT@T phone service for two or three years and very happy with it. Switched over to the Charter bundle offer a few months ago. The internet service is truly pathetic. VERY slow to connect; access to E-mail is unreliable; frequently booted off when finally connected. Spoke with customer service and they were resistant to sending someone out. Am now in the process of checking the options for canceling the "bundling" and returning to ATT for phone service. The financial savings is not worth the aggravation. More...
